Dr. Sean Avila

Dr. Avila Saiter has a great deal of experience helping adolescents, teens and young adults maneuver transitions in their lives, improve their self-talk and their communication with family and friends. He is specialized in ADHD and other Executive Functioning issues and enjoys guiding and coaching clients to maximize their potential, manage time optimally, learn more effectively and structure their days in a way that will provide much relief and more contentment to his clients. His other specialities include treating trauma and existential issues through an effective humanistic approach.

Dr. Avila Saiter provides psychotherapy and evaluations to clients both in-person and via telehealth. He has also developed competencies in EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, neuropsychology, psychodynamic approaches, cognitive-behavioral therapies, and neurocognitive rehabilitation and regularly applies these modalities as needed.

Prior to joining the team at Dobbs Psychology as an experienced Post-Doctoral Fellow, Dr. Avila Saiter was a full-time clinician at TLC Child and Family Services in Sebastopol, CA where he worked directly with at-risk teens and youth in both transitional housing as well as residential programs. Before this, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuropsychology at Neuropsychological Associates of California in Santa Rosa where he provided neuropsychological and psychological evaluations, psychotherapy, and neurocognitive rehabilitation.

Dr. Avila Saiter has regularly taught psychology courses at the Dominican University of California, Sonoma State University, Meridian University, Burlington College, John F. Kennedy University, UC Santa Cruz, California Institute of Integral Studies, and the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology.

More About Dr. Dobbs

Dr. Elena Dobbs is a licensed clinical psychologist, and her experience includes neuropsychological science and neurofeedback to effectively treat trauma and PTSD symptoms, as well as anxiety, depression, and stress.

Dr. Dobbs helps teens and adults overcome challenges and traumatic events that affect self-esteem, shame, guilt, and interpersonal developments. Dr. Dobbs specializes in Internal Family Systems as an extremely effective approach to treating trauma symptoms. She is currently an active researcher on guilt, shame, ego, forgiveness of oneself and others and self-acceptance issues.

She can also effectively guide her clients through relational issues such as communication and parenting issues, separation and divorce and life’s important transitions and has effectively helped many patients with self-worth and self-evaluation issues.

Dr. Dobbs utilizes an evidence-based, multicultural, eclectic, and collaborative approach in her sessions. She is an experienced mindfulness guide and is a certified hypnotherapist, which is an exceptionally effective approach to cope with stress and anxiety.

Dr. Dobbs offers couples’ therapy and specializes in Imago Therapy for couples based on the work of Dr. Hendrix. Imago therapy focuses on improving communication and compassion for oneself and your partner, as it quickly improves a much deeper understanding of anticipatory fears and issues that may interfere in a relationship.

As an experienced neuropsychologist, Dr. Dobbs is currently pursuing a Board Certification as a Neuropsychologist and specializes in offering comprehensive online evaluations for ADHD, Autism and Learning Difficulties, and can guide clients through most accommodations processes in the educational or organizational systems.

Dr. Dobbs has extensive experience working with emergency service personnel (EMS, Police/Fire), Military Veterans and their Families, and the Intelligence Community. Through her own experiences with military life and related transitions, she has specialized expertise in preparing service members and their families for separated tours and reintegration into their families and communities after deployment and critical incidents.

Dr. Dobbs holds an MBA from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, a MS from Troy State University, a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Barry Dominican University, and a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University.

Dr. Eve Boyd

She started her career in 2006, receiving her AS in medical assisting/nursing, working in family practice and rehabilitation.

In 2011, Dr. Boyd received her BS in Psychology, from Perdue University with an emphasis on Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), working with children and adolescents on the spectrum, and for the Army Department of Defense (DOD) as a Program Assistant, helping to implement appropriate nutritional and healthcare to children of active duty.

She has worked as a professor of Allied Healthcare and General Psychology. She received her MS in Applied Psychology from Walden University, Minneapolis, MN. in 2017. Dr. Boyd began her doctorate program in 2017, moving to California for her internship. She is currently completing her fellowship.

She specializes in neuropsychology/neuropsychological assessments for adults and children, and helps individuals 6 and up. Dr. Boyd is also accepting patients for neurocognitive and psychotherapy, and specializes in anxiety, depression, OCD, self-esteem concerns, life transition, and pre op and post op therapy.

Dr. Marianne Lapastora

Dr. Marianne Lapastors is an east coast native, originally hailing from New Jersey but growing up in rural Virginia. She earned her bachelors degree at Ceorge Mason University, where she began as a fine arts major, soon after beginning college, however, she changed her major to psychology upon discovering how much she enjoyed her introductory psychology courses. She began gaining experience in the field through ABA therapy with children on the autism spectrum, and that is when she knew she wanted to continue her studies in psychology. Dr. Lapestorathon moved to NYC to attend graduate school at Columbia University, where she earned a masters degree in educational psychology and a masters degree in applied developmental psychology. She has been a Nationally Certified School Psychologist since 2013, and over the years she has assessed numerous children, teenagers, and young adults for a variety of conditions including autism, dyslexia (and other learning disabilities), ADHD, intellectual disabilities, emotional difficulties, and behavioral issues in rural, suburban, and urban schools. She has assessed children as young as two years old for developmental delays and autism, and she is able to conduct thorough, trauma informed functional behavior assessments to support behavior intervention planning. Dr. Lepastors also has experience providing counseling to children and teenagers in therapeutic day programs with difficulties such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. When completing her doctoral degree, Dr. Lapastora completed dissertation research on creative and expressive interventions in counseling and psychotherapy, with emphases on social justice and social action. She has special interests in the uses of visual art, music, bodily movement, and crama within therapy work, Dr. Lapastora is currently an adjunct professor in National University’s masters program in school psychology, and she continues her work as a school payohologist. Outside of work, she enjoys painting, drawing, graphic design, writing fiction and poetry, composing on the piano, and spending time with her rescue animals. Dr. Lapestora works with children, teens and adults.
